In
the early days of computing, user's terminals were connected to
a central mainframe via specific cabling entirely dedicated to that
purpose. More often than not the cable would be coaxial or screened
and be hardwired to each item of equipment.
A
similar scenario existed for the telephone cable, this would be
normally be multipair twisted cables hardwired through a network
of MDF's, connection boxes and linejack.
This
proved extremely inflexible for moves and changes and also very
costly due to installing and maintaining two entirely separate cabling
infrastructures.
Structured
cabling is a methodology which provides a common cable for voice,
data and Building automation systems. Networks
are designed to
allow future work place moves, from one desk to a whole office without
the need for rewiring.
1st Coms
system architects will design
a bespoke structured cable system to fit your individual needs.
All
install teams are project managed and fully Cat5e
